Inconel X750 (AMS 5699) is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy used for its corrosion and oxidation resistance and high strength at temperatures to 1300°F. Wire is available in size ranges from 0.020" - 0.625".
Alloy X750 wires is the most common type of Inconel and is an excellent material of construction for custom springs and wire forms for high temperature applications.

Heat Treating Inconel X750
To achieve maximum creep, relaxation & rupture strength at temperatures above 1100°F (593°C)
- Solution treatment at 2100°F (1149°C); hold for 2 to 4 hours
- Air-cool to room temperature
- Intermediate age at 1550°F (843°C); hold for 24 hours
- Air-cool to room temperature
- Final age at 1300°F (704°C); hold for 20 hours
- Air-cool to room temperature
To achieve highest room temperature yield strength & tensile ductility
- Stress equalization at 1625°F (885°C); hold for 24 hours
- Air-cool to room temperature
- Precipitation age at 1300°F (704°C); hold for 20 hours
- Air-cool to room temperature
